The ongoing collection of vintage pictures featured here dates between the 1880s and the early 1950s (dates are provided whenever available).
All pictures have been scanned and undergone some level of correction in Photoshop (levels, contrast, color balance, sharpening and the like) by myself. Most of the time, the intention was not to "restore" these images (in the sense of erasing the traces of Time's passing) but rather to remain faithful to the originals.
Please bear in mind that the main reason I'm displaying these pictures here is for their mere enjoyment, as objects of beauty in their own right, and not for the purpose of being incorporated into new artwork.
If you do use these pictures nonetheless, I would very much appreciate your sending me a link to your Deviation, so that I might add your work to my Favourites.
Enjoy, and don't hesitate to share your comments!!!

... the day has come, when you look into the face of any man or woman and recognize your brother or sister, until then the night is still here.

Thanks so much!

Eyes of glass stare directly at death
From deep sleep I have broken away
No one knows, no one hears what I say"
